Pakistan Para-Alpinism 2023
Initially based in Hunza, the expedition spent three weeks exploring the surrounding peaks using a combination of paragliding, skiing and climbing. During this time, as well as landing on a number of peaks, members of the party achieved notable first descents, including skiing the initial couloir of the South ridge of Ultar Sar and the west face of Mirshika. Team members also made cross-country flights of up to 100km on several occasions. Relocating to the Baltoro, they had less luck with the weather, but managed flights to Concordia and Broad Peak. They noted significant potential for summit landings in the region but were also keen to stress that there are limited landing options in the Baltoro and that it is a challenging place in which to paraglide.
