Parbati South

Having made the first - and possibly the only - ascent of Parbati South (aka Pt. 6128m) in the Kullu 25 years ago, Collister hoped to climb its SW Ridge, which has defeated him and several other teams. However, their arrival in the area coincided with the beginning of a period of very bad weather. With never more than one fine day at a time, the mountain was plastered with snow, so although they achieved 5,400m on nearby Twin Peak, serious climbing was out of the question, and they never actually set foot on their intended route.
