2024 British-Slovenian Gasherbrum III
Over seven days Livingstone and Česen succeeded in making the first ascent of the west ridge of Gasherbrum III (7952m). The pair had previously attempted the line in 2022 but were hampered by extremely windy conditions. Their successful 2024 ascent involved multiple bivouacs, including an open, sitting bivy at 7,800m. They topped out on 4 August and descended by traversing to the normal route on Gasherbrum II, making partial use of the fixed lines. They dubbed their route Edge of Entropy.
The expedition was a recipient of the Fred Iseman Award, which is adminsitered by the MEF.
