2026 Alpine Club Misgar Valley Expedition

On 19 August, this team of five Alpine Club members established a base camp in the Baar Valley above Misgar at 4,350m. Following a period of reconnaissance and acclimatisation, Abel, Craid, Durrani and Hammond made the first ascent of Murghi Sar (5597m) on 28 August, forging a weaving mixed line up the west face at around AD. Then, on 1 September, Abel, Craig and Hammond took a snow and ice line, with difficulties up to AD, through the north face of Mahal (5355m), successfully reaching the summit of this previously unclimbed peak. Finally, on 9 September, Abel, Craig and Hammond made the first ascent of Pehradar (5488m) via a south-facing gully at around PD+. This route was repeated solo by Kesner on the 10th, followed by the departure of the team from base camp on the same day.
