Achat Valley (Zeravshan) Expedition
This four-man party, visiting the Asan region of the Soviet Pamir, climbed Pik Domyaged (3,900m) and made a new route on Pik Holland, all from the Russian-organised camp in the Ak Su valley. They succeeded in their main objective of a first ascent of the W ridge of Pyramid Peak (5,509m) from the Avshan valley.
