British Greenland 1993

This team made a 640km W-E crossing of the Greenland Ice Cap from near Angmassalik to Sondre Stromfjord in 38 days. 'Upski' parachutes provided one very exhilarating day of 61km, but mostly it was hard work towing heavy pulks and averaging 16km a day. The hardest part of all came at the end, when a severely crevassed area had to be traversed, and then loads up to 50kg backpacked down to the coast.
