Leverett Glacier

Using the body of previous research which aimed to quantify how melting of the ice sheet surface affects ice flow, the team travelled to the Leverett Glacier with the aim of building upon their pilot study and produce more accurate datasets of bed elevation and ice thickness for use in numerical models of ice flow and water flow beneath the ice. Over a period of two weeks they gathered ~40 km of good on-ice radar data and were able to pick out the ice bed clearly along most of the radar lines, filling in useful gaps in the scientific knowledge on the region.
