Wakhan Corridor

Following her success in the Wakhan in 2011, this very experienced leader was keen to return to climb some peaks from the Upper Qala Panja Glacier. In particular she hoped to climb the West face of Rahozon Zom (aka South Peak, 6535m). The mountain had never been attempted from this side, both previous ascents being made from Pakistan. However, once a high camp had been established at the head of the glacier, they decided that Koh-e-Rank (5930m) was a more amenable objective, and so it proved, ascent and descent being achieved within a single day.
