Watkins Mountains 1969

This Expedition was set up to explore the area south of Scoresby Sund and west of the Blosseville Coast. The expedition's core objectives were to determine and explore an access route to the Watkins Mountains from Scoresby Sund, to make an ascent of Ejnar Mikkelsens Fjeld, to conduct glaciological and geographic research and to make a collection of botanical specimens. Due to persistent bad weather, the expedition was delayed getting onto the glacier and had difficulties throughout the attempted crossing. As a result, the initial aims of the expedition went largely unaccomplished.
