Soon after being dropped on Ruth Glacier, the leader of this team developed severe respiratory problems, so he left (with his wife) to seek medical attention. The remaining pair climbed the standard W Ridge route to the western summit of Moose's Tooth, 2,981 m. They then flew round to the Kahiltna Glacier from which they made the first ascent of the S Ridge of Mt Crosson, 3901m: from here they continued up the Sultana Ridge to Mt Foraker, 5,304m, returning by the same route.
