British-Dutch 2023 Shimshal Expedition

This was the first exploratory expedition for this team and they travelled to Shimshal with a long list of potential objectives, willing to be guided by conditions on the ground. Over a period of two weeks at basecamp, they succeeded in making the first ascent of two peaks – PK283 (5850m) and PK281 (5980m). They also made attempts on two other peaks, PK289 (5775m) and PK275 (5850m). They abandoned an attempt on the first due to poor snow and rock conditions caused by high temperatures and the second due to encountering poor rock.
