Founded after the successful ascent of Everest in 1953, initially financed from surplus funds and royalties, the Mount Everest Foundation exists to encourage and support 'exploration of the mountain regions of the earth'.

An illustrated lecture by PAUL ROSE

Join (explorer, BBC broadcaster and author) Paul Rose at the RGS in London, for an engaging, informative and fun talk on his lifetime of adventurous travel.

He is a polar guide who leads Greenland expeditions including Icecap crossings and first ascents - very much in the spirit of MEF supported expeditions.

Paul was the Base Commander of Rothera Research Station in

Antarctica for ten years for which

he received HM The Queen's Polar Medal.

He is a past Vice President of the Royal Geographical Society, and has spent a lifetime exploring and supporting science in the world's most remote locations.

Paul is the Presenter and Expedition Leader of the highly acclaimed BBC ‘Oceans’ series. His previous TV credits include, ‘Voyages of Discovery’, ‘Take One Museum’ and ‘Meltdown’.
