Nutarmiut Island Expedition

This team of two set out with the aim of achieving the first ascents of the peaks and faces to the east and northeast of their base camp, which was located in the southeastern portion of Nutarmiut Island in western Greenland. Their secondary objectives included completing a multi-day traverse of the summits to the southwest of their base camp and gathering samples on behalf of Manchester Metropolitan University's Department of Geology. Unfortunately, the faces to the east and northeast of their camp proved to be both too loose and too wet for a successful attempt during the trip. Despite the mixed weather, they were still able to ascend these peaks, as well as those to the southwest, frequently taking a more mountaineering than climbing approach as dictated by the conditions. Overall, they estimate that they climbed a total of ten new routes, up to about 240m in length, and reached 20 summits, some of which were first ascents.
